Our learning this week

Phonics

We are currently reviewing all the sounds we have learnt so far from set 1 and 2 alongside the set 3 sounds we have learnt (ea- cup of tea, oi-spoil the boy, aw-yawn at dawn, are-care and share, ur-purse for a nurse. er-a better letter and ow-brown cow) to consolidate. Also our tricky words set 1.

English

This week we have looked at the modern version of the three pig's story as a viewpoint from the wolf. The three pigs have had to write sorry letters to the wolf for being unkind and for burning his bottom!

Maths

We have moved onto 2D shape this week as we have examined their properties and played the game of guess the shape from its description.

Continuous provision

The warmer sunny weather has been a welcome change as it allowed us to extend the classroom learning outside. We made ramps and tracks using drain pipes and tested ways to make the cars travel further. We went on a mini beast hunt digging up all sorts of exciting creatures from the garden area including many worms, ladybirds and even a millipede! We also filled the new water tray and poured the water using different containers to make the cogs turn.
