Reception news week commencing 27th November

Date: 26th Nov 2017 @ 9:33am

Good Morning, I hope you are all having an enjoyable weekend.

This week we have another busy week of activities. In maths, we will begin to compare two groups of numbers. We will also investigate separating an amount in different ways to see if it still makes the same amount. Moving forward, the children will begin to look at number sentences when adding two amounts together. This week in phonics, we will begin phase three. Our literacy focus will draw our 'Jolly Postman' book to an end as the children retell the story through their own story maps. In addition to our structured lessons, the children are provided with 'challenges' around the classroom that link into the EYFS goals that they can select independently to support and extend their learning.

On Thursday 30th 9am-10am, it is our Christingle coffee morning. You are all welcome to come and join us to support the children in making these special symbolic candles for advent. This is in preparation for our Christingle church service on Sunday 3rd December 10.30am. We have been busy practicing our song in readiness for the service so you may hear the children singing snippets of it to you!

Thank you,

Mrs Allen
