This week we will start our next book focus which is 'Titch' by Pat Hutchins. This is a lovely story which children always enjoy, it will also be the first book we use for our Talk for Writing. The children will learn the story through pictures and actions which they will then act out.

In maths we will continue on from our 2D shape work last week as we move forward to look at 3D shapes and their properties. The children were very good shape detectives last week whilst hunting for 2D shapes in and around the classroom, so I will be looking to see if they can use the same skills to find 3D shapes this week.

Our Harvest Service is this Sunday 7th at St Oswald's at 10.30am, everyone is welcome. The children have been busy preparing by learning our song which I'm sure you have all heard a version of as its very catchy!

I am really pleased with the children's reading in school. We currently read three times a week. On a Monday afternoon for assessment of their reading and to change their books. They have a guided reading session on a Thursday morning as part of a small group and an individual reading session on Friday morning where they are again able to change their books. Please continue to read at least three times a week at home to support this and to allow them to earn a reading challenge point. There will be certificates for children who achieve their point each week over the half term.
