KS2 Residential

KS2 Residential - 27th - 29th March 2017

Last year our KS2 Children headed off to Kingswood in Staffordshire.

The purpose built centre overlooks the picturesque beauty of the Wrekin and Clee Hills.

This compact centre is ideal for younger students and with all the facilities within easy reach of the main buildings, makes close teacher supervision easier. This ease is furthered by the close proximity of night lounges, situated at the end of each student dormitory corridor. All teacher rooms are close to student dormitories and contain en-suite bathrooms. Young people are kept safe and secure with boundary fencing and security gates around the centre.

Even though Staffordshire is more compact than our other centres, it still has a fantastic range of adventure activities to keep students smiling. Come rain or shine there is always a raft of activities from team building pursuits like team challenge and indoor initiatives, to high-adrenaline adventures such as zipwire and quad biking. The centre also has computer labs and indoor spaces.

This year our Yr 5 & 6 pupils are trying something a little different.  They are going to Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire.

The art studio at Ingestre Hall allows pupils to creatively explore specific themes and issues through drawing, printing, wire, collage, canvas and textiles. The emphasis is on learning new skills and techniques that may not be as easily as accessible or available in our school. The music workshops include the opportunity to create and recognise rhythms, playing drums and various instruments, lyric writing, singing, performing and an introduction to the Recording Studio. Filmmaking or animation is also available so that the children have the experience of producing animated films, music videos and dance films as well as using the filmmaking equipment to document their experience at Ingestre Hall. The Drama workshops allow the pupils to develop their performance, improvisation and storytelling skills, which enhances their confidence, initiative and ability to empathise – combined with a great amount of fun and games!!
