Rights Respecting and Global Learning
This page includes links to Rights Respecting and Global resources that we use in school, they can also be utilised at home. Each term as a school we focus on specific articles for 'The Rights of a Child'. The Global Goals also link into the ethos our school has as we embrace all ways to let our light shine.
This term we are looking at articles 7, 12 and 15. Each of these have their own Unicef powerpoint which explains the article and has activities linked to this. There is also a child-friendly version of the list of the rights of a child too.
Oxfam: This Home Learning Resource Hub, for use by parents, carers and teachers with children aged 7-14, contains simple, child-led activity ideas, engaging videos from around the world, and downloadable worksheets. Each week focuses on a need we all share.
World Recycling Day:The Global Recycling Foundation, London, has announced that the theme for the third Global Recycling Day, which will take place on March 18, 2020, will be “Recycling Heroes.” The Global Recycling Foundation wants to recognize people, places and activities that showcase the important role recycling plays in creating an environmentally stable planet.
Transform Our World: Learning from Home Resources – These resources cover coral reefs, clean air, sustainable development and food packaging, and typically involve following a PowerPoint presentation alongside other downloadable resources.
British Red Cross: Online resources for young people to explore from home which promote the value of kindness, and cover topics including Covid-19, first aid, preparedness and well-being. Suitable for ages 7-19.
