Coronation of King Charles III
Date: 8th May 2023 @ 3:08pm
King Charles III is passionate about our environment and conservation. At Warmingham CE Primary, we share his passion and to commemorate his Coronation we have been working on some special projects which will encourage more wildlife into our grounds.
Otters planted some flowers in old wellies.
Hedgehogs made wildflower seed bombs which they later used to create a wildflower area by the school’s front gate.
Squirrels planted some shrubs and bedding plants in the planters which we moved from the front of the school to the edge of the playground so the children can maintain them.
Badgers made some bird boxes for the woodland area. They then decorated them with paintings of wildflowers, bees, butterflies and ladybirds inspired by the invitation for the coronation which was created by Andrew Jamieson.

Squirrels and Badgers are thoroughly enjoying their swimming lessons over at Bunbury. Today, four of our none-swimmers swam their first width without their swimming noddles. The more able swimmers have been perfecting their swimming strokes and stamina whilst our confident swimmers have been working on their life saving skills.

Anne Frank - A True Courageous Advocate
Date: 23rd Nov 2022 @ 10:14am
As theologists, Badgers’ Class (Year 5/6) have explored how Anne Frank’s faith helped her see the good in everything around her.
They started by learning about the basic history of the Holocaust before they learnt about the life of the courageous advocate Anne Frank. After ordering the key events in Anne’s life, they looked at how the Holocaust had an impact of her life.
Afterwards, they looked at some quotes from Anne Frank’s diary, and how her faith helped her to see the good in everything around her, despite what was happening to her and her family. They then thought carefully about which of our Christian values she was using to help her. A truly amazing courageous advocate – an inspiration to us all.

After discovering why we wear poppies on Remembrance Day, we looked at Georgina O’Keeffe’s poppies. We then drew our own pictures of poppies and made some poppies out of wire and red resin. We used different techniques including smudging and blending to create the different perspectives in a poppy. Whilst creating our wire poppies, we learnt to use some wire cutters and pliers to cut and join the wire, and a drill to make a hole in the wood to stand my poppies in.
