World Religion Day

What a wonderful day we had yesterday with Bishaka and Cali who came to explain about their religion Hinduism. The children were given an introduction in a whole school worship where they learnt the greeting Hindu's use.

 In the afternoon the whole school took part in two workshops. With Cali the children learnt a dance and understood that the dance symbolises a story of prayer. With Bishaka they learnt all about how they pray and the difference symbols and artefacts they use to pray with.

The children learnt that the god Ganesha is a God they pray to to take problems away and has similarities to that of an elephant.
