Well Reception class were super forest explorers on Tuesday. I was immensely proud of not just their behaviour throughout the day, but also their enthusiasm and engagement with all of the activities. They all worked cooperatively as part of small groups with Year 1 and Year 2 to build the biggest den which could hold the most children and teachers! They also made crowns using foliage and natural resources found in the woodlands. They had to hunt to find living, non-living, rough, smooth and various coloured objects in the woods and Mrs Mellor explained how the trees are maintained in the forests through the forestry commission to maintain a healthy woodland area. They also discussed what different uses the culled trees could be used for.

I have uploaded a couple of pictures from the day but unfortunately there were too many to upload them all! If you would like to see more please come and speak to me and I can show you them.
