Week commencing 13th November

Date: 12th Nov 2017 @ 4:00pm

The children were all very excited to return to school on Tuesday and to share their holiday news! This week they have completed their first news writing and I have enjoyed reading and listening to all their exciting adventures. They have been busy in our post office writing letters, wrapping parcels and using our scales which will all link into our work this week.

In literacy, we will start our collaborative class letter ready for the post. We wiill look at the format of a letter alongside what language is used. In numeracy, we return to numbers and after a brief number refresher we will start to compare groups of items. Later we will move onto the addition of two single digit numbers and number sentences. Our science lesson will link to our topic as we look to categorise parcels according to weight. We will discuss questions such as 'If something is big, is it the heaviest?'

Reading will continue over the duration of the week, with a guided reading session for each child, an individual reading session on Tuesdays and Fridays alongside a book change and a shared reading session on Thursday.

Just a reminder, on Thursday it is the bible giving service for Reception. This will be held at the cricket club at 9.10am -9.30am it would be lovely to see you there.
