Music Tuition

A Caring Christian Family Where We Grow Together
Let Your Light Shine ~ Matthew 5:16

"Music has a power of forming the character and should therefore be introduced into the education of the young."
Aristotle

Through exploring music children can find natural connections to mathematics, science, reading, writing and performing arts. Children learn in many different ways.  Music allows them to express themselves in a unique way, which motivates their learning and helps build their self-confidence.

Our music curriculum provides our pupils with opportunities to increase their knowledge and understanding of music whilst developing their musical skills, confidence and love of music.   As the children move into KS2, each class has the opportunity to learn to play the recorder whilst in Year 3 before moving onto learning to play either a clarinet or saxophone at the start of Year 4 as part of the Wider Opportunities Programme, which is organised by Love Music Trust.      At the end year, the children are encouraged to continue playing in small ensembles.     Each year the children have the amazing opportunity to play with the Halle Orchester at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.

In addition to these class lessons, the children are also given the opportunity have individual and small group lessons.      These are organised through Love Music Trust and Music for Schools.   We currently have children learning to play the clarinet, saxophone, violin, piano and guitar.

"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, and life to everything… Without music, life would be an error."
Plato
