PE & Sports Funding
A Caring Christian Family Where We Grow Together
Let Your Light Shine ~ Matthew 5:16
At Warmingham CE Primary School, we place a high value on physical education and sport. We believe that regular physical activity plays a vital role in helping children to live healthy, happy and balanced lives, and we are committed to ensuring that all pupils have access to high‑quality PE and sporting opportunities.
Through the effective use of the PE and Sport Premium, we aim to develop pupils’ physical skills, confidence and enjoyment of sport, while also supporting their wider personal development.
The Impact of Sport at Warmingham
We recognise the powerful impact that sport and physical activity can have on children’s lives. Regular exercise supports pupils’ physical health, mental wellbeing and concentration, helping them to be ready to learn. Participation in sport also encourages positive attitudes such as resilience, perseverance and self‑discipline.
Competitive sport is an important part of our provision. Through taking part in competitions and festivals, pupils learn how to:
Try their best and take pride in their achievements
Show respect for others and demonstrate good sportsmanship
Cope with success and disappointment in a positive way
Work as part of a team and support one another
These experiences help children to build confidence and character, preparing them for life beyond primary school.
Using the PE and Sport Premium
Our PE and Sport Premium funding is used to:
Improve the quality of PE teaching and learning across the school
Increase pupils’ participation in physical activity and sport
Provide access to specialist coaching and a wider range of sporting experiences
Offer opportunities for pupils to take part in competitive sport within and beyond the school
Support staff professional development so that high‑quality PE is sustainable in the long term
We regularly review the impact of our spending to ensure it leads to meaningful and lasting improvements for our pupils.
As a Church of England school, our approach to sport is rooted in our Christian vision and the belief that every child has unique gifts and talents. Through PE and sport, pupils are encouraged to let their light shine by giving their best, showing courage, supporting others and celebrating effort as well as success.
Sport provides valuable opportunities for pupils to demonstrate respect, fairness and kindness, and to shine as individuals while contributing positively to a team and the wider community.
Looking Ahead
We remain committed to developing a high‑quality PE and sport provision that is inclusive, ambitious and enjoyable for all. By promoting healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes to physical activity, we aim to equip our pupils with habits and values that will support them well into the future.
