Maths

It is important that you make Maths at home fun and interactive.

Try and involve maths in day to day live, making it relevant to your child. This can include:

  • Telling the time using analogue and digital clocks.

  • Paying for an item in a shop using money.

  • Measuring equipment

  • Following a recipe

  • Baking a cake

Playing games is a fantastic way to help your child improve their maths. Here are some suggestions:

  • Monopoly

  • Snakes and Ladders

  • Playing cards

  • Dominoes

  • Connect 4

Good times tables knowledge is essential to keep up with Maths in KS2, especially in Year 5 and Year 6. Every pupil in KS2 has access to TT Rockstars (log ins can be found in Homework books) to encourage regular practice. Please make sure that your child is confident with all of their times tables, and that they spend time on them at home as well as in school.
