We Are Learning About...
Our first study theme for the Spring term is 'Ticket to ride'.
In our 'Ticket to Ride' study theme, children will explore different ways we travel and go on exciting journeys in and around London. Using the key text Naughty Bus by Jan Oke, we will follow the adventures of a bus as it travels through the city, helping children learn about stories, directions, and everyday transport.
The children will learn about different modes of transport, such as buses, trains, cars, bikes, and boats. We will look closely at famous London landmarks the bus might pass, including bridges and buildings, and talk about what makes them special.
We will also compare London to our local area, noticing similarities and differences in transport, roads, buildings, and places we see every day. Through stories, play, maps, and role-play, children will build their understanding of the world around them while developing language, curiosity, and confidence in talking about their own journeys.
